You will be introduced to a systematic testing procedure that you can use to ensure that your products comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2), the Barrierefreie Informationstechnikverordnung (BITV 2.0) and the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG).

You will gain in-depth knowledge of:
Digital accessibility in general
- You understand the four principles of WCAG: perceivability, operability, understandability and robustness.
- You are familiar with the compliance levels (A, AA, AAA) and specific requirements for visual, auditory, motoric and cognitive impairments.
- You know how to exploit the potential of standard software, how assistive technologies work for improving digital accessibility such as screen readers, voice output, keyboard navigation, etc. and where they can be used effectively.
- You learn how digital accessibility improves usability for all people.
Legal basis & standards
- You will gain an overview of the most important laws and guidelines, e.g. BFSG, EU directives (EAA),
BITV 2.0, etc. - You will learn how to ensure and document legal compliance, both nationally and internationally.
Practical application of the WCAG 2.2 guideline underlying the BFSG
- You can check the WCAG success criteria using the test steps in the BITV test reference and thus verify the implementation of BITV 2.0 and WCAG 2.2.
- You will learn about various tools for performing tests.
- You will be able to document the results of your tests.
