The European Commission has now granted its approval to the AGEDIS Project as part of its Fifth Research Program.

A consortium of seven industrial and academic research centres in Europe and Israel has been charged with the research and development work in the AGEDIS* Project. The consortium is headed by the IBM Research Laboratory in Haifa, and includes academic partners at the University of Oxford Software Engineering Centre , Uk and Verimag - Université Joseph Fournier in Grenoble. Besider imbus , the industrial partners are France Telekom R&D , IBM Research Center Hursley Park , Uk and Intrasoft International , Luxembourg and Athens.

(Participants at the Kickoff Meeting)

The AGEDIS Project is budgeted to cost 4.3 million Euros; the EU is providing 2.3 million Euros and thus funding approximately 50% of the costs of the project. The consortium will contribute the same amount as furnished to it by the EU.

As a key partner, imbus is actively involved in all phases of the AGEDIS Project. With a 20% share of the project volume, imbus is thus the second-largest contributor, after IBM Research Laboratory in Haifa, to the project's budget.

The goal of AGEDIS is to develop new methods and tools for automating software tests to a much greater extent than possible today. Furthermore, AGEDIS will develop methods which enable test cases and test data to be generated directly from specifications and formal models. In October 2003, appropriate tools and training programs will be made available to the European software industry.

The AGEDIS Project started on November 01, 2001 and will be end on Oktober 31, 2003.
