For imbus it goes without saying that ourknow-how represents the most current standard To meet this demand, we participate in international research projects and co-operate with expert schools and universities.

Our Research projects

MoReq (Duration:2006 - 2008)
MoReq2 is the new worldwide standard for Electronic Records Management Systems (ERMS). imbus has developed the compliance test framework for this new standard. The test framework was accepted by the European Commission in April 2008 and was officially presented at the DLM Forum Members' Meeting.
Here you can download the test materials in the most up-to-date form.

TestBalance (Duration:2006 - 2009)
Within the framework of the research initiative “Software Engineering 2006”, an integrated procedure called TestBalance is being developed. This can be used for the business-optimal planning of quality assuring measures in software development projects. The project is being sponsored by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) and coordinated by imbus AG as the lead consortium company. With the help of this procedure, QA and test managers will be able to plan quality-assuring measures quantitatively and precisely, so that, taking into account the project framework conditions (budget, time, resources…), the economic optimum can be attained from the achievable QA costs and expected error correction costs. As a combination of tools and methods, TestBalance should be deployed as universally as possible in the development projects of both smaller and larger software-producing companies.

Modelware (Duration:2004 - 2006)
Im 6. Modelware is a two-year research project funded by the European Commission in the "Information Society Technologies" Sixth Framework Programme. The goal of the project is to provide a way for a significant increase in productivity in the software development process by the consequent application of Model Driven Development (MDD). MDD is based on models which describe the different aspects of the software, starting from the definition of the requirements up to the specification of the test cases. The contribution of imbus lies mainly in providing know-how in model based testing.

PETS (Duration:2001 - 2003
MPETS is yet another project approved by the EU as part of its 5 th Research Program. The project coordinator is imbus. The goal of this project was to improve the accuracy and usability of predictability models for software reliability.

AGEDIS (Duration:2000 - 2004)
imbus is actively participating in the three-year AGEDIS Project as part of the 5 th Research Program of the European Union. The goal of this project was to develop new methods and tools for automating software test to a much greater extent than possible today. AGEDIS will develop procedures which enable test cases and test data to be generated directly from specifications and formal models.

PIE 24306 "GUI-Test" (Duration:1997 - 1998)
As part of the ESSI-initiative of the European Union imbus completed the project PIE 24306 "GUI Test".
The target was ... to enable process improvement via research on test automation for programs with a graphical user interface .
