Potsdam, October 2007 – The 25th National Competition in Informatics took place at the Hasso-Plattner Institute in Potsdam on 13 October 2007.
Following on from this event, there was a meeting of competition finalists from previous years. The National Competition in Informatics is one of the national competitions for school pupils that are organized annually by the ministries responsible for education and culture in the German states.
The meeting began with words of welcome from Dr Wolfgang Pohl, the competition’s Executive Director, and Professor Christoph Meinel, the Director of the Hasso-Plattner Institute. Then it was the turn of some of the past finalists to speak about the professional experience they have acquired over the years since they participated in the competition.
imbus can boast two past prize winners in this competition: Frank Schmeißner, the Managing Director of imbus Rhine-Main GmbH, and Tilo Linz, the CEO of imbus.
Round 1 of the 26th National Competition in Informatics started in September. School pupils up to the age of 21 who would like to participate have until November to register.
