MoReq Governance Board (MGB) ensures security of investment for the MoReq2 certificate
Möhrendorf / London, Juli 2009 – Möhrendorf, Germany / London, July 2009 – On July 10, 2009 the MoReq Governance Board (MGB) voted to adopt an innovation and maintenance process that will ensure the carefully planned further development of the MoReq2 standard. With this innovation and maintenance process as a regulating instrument for the MoReq2 roadmap, the MGB has provided rules regarding which measures will have to be adhered to in future, as soon as the standard has been flexibly adapted to innovations and new market requirements. In accordance with these rules, changes to the MoReq2 standard are only permissible if they have been planned and approved within the framework of the official roadmap. The board’s approval of the roadmap once again reinforces the security of an investment in MoReq 2 certificates, as this decision also ensures that MoReq2 will continue to be further developed as the European standardisation of minimum requirements for modern Electronic Records Management Systems (ERM Systems).
“Basically this means that the MGB has given the go-ahead for the process to draw up a roadmap, and has thereby fixed the further development of MoReq2 as the European standard,” comments Thomas Rumi, Manager of the imbus Software Testing Center, in his assessment of the decision to proceed with the roadmap. This is a demonstration of just how successful the MoReq2 initiative has really been: By merging all the requirements for the modern ERM Systems of renowned vendors, users, and consultants, it has been possible to create a robust standard that in its effect has provided all concerned parties with a high degree of investment security that has already become apparent.
The MoReq Governance Board (MGB) sees this decision as a further step towards the goal of continuing to ensure conformity between MoReq2 and previously issued MoReq2 certificates. That means that MoReq2 certificates now demonstrate impressive economic sustainability, as their long-term validity is guaranteed. Companies can calculate and act accordingly.
For vendors of MoReq2 certified products, this results in specific added value: In future, the designing of development and maintenance processes will be more transparent and easier to plan.
In addition, the vendors with certified products benefit from increased security of investment, and with the MoReq2 standard, they will be guaranteed to receive flexible adaptations to innovative market requirements.
With this standard, producers of ERM Systems who are looking to acquire customers and gain interest internationally or in the European marketplace will finally be able to provide proof that their products are compliant with all requirements for performance features.
Users of ERM Systems, who were previously unable to check the fulfillment of their requirements before deciding to purchase, finally have an internationally-valid requirement specification that vendors have to prove that they adhere to.
About MoReq2
| MoReq2 was implemented in 2008 as an extension to the previous standard for Document and Records Management Systems in Europe that had existed since 2001. This has meant that users of these systems can finally refer to minimum requirements at a European level. imbus AG is the first, and currently the only, company worldwide with an accredited MoReq2 Test Centre, and is therefore the issuing authority for MoReq2 certificates.
