Siemens Corporate Technologies and imbus AG present Managed Model Based Testing
Moehrendorf, Germany, 30th May 2011 – Today every company is facing up to the challenge of having to develop software for increasingly complex products and workflows with deadlines that get shorter and shorter. The question is not whether it is necessary to test systematically, but rather: How can I test better in a shorter time?
“One way of achieving significantly better productivity in software testing is to use model-based testing. But keep in mind that the mass of generated tests has to be manageable, and the models have to be easy to understand, even for non-specialists,” explains Thomas Roßner, Chief Technology Officer at imbus AG.
Managed Model Based Testing (M²BT) is a new solution, developed by Siemens Corporate Technologies and imbus AG, which fulfils these requirements. In the course of a series of events entitled Trends in Testing, around 250 participants found out about the different functions, field reports and potential of M²BT.
“By using the test generator tedeso that has been developed by Siemens Corporate Technologies, we were able to achieve productivity increases of up to 74% in test design for individual projects. M²BT now links our test case generator with the high-performance, convenient test management functions of the imbus TestBench. As a Siemens Advanced Partner, imbus AG will, from now on, be the exclusive provider for the integration of both tools, and, in addition, will be offering all clients outside the Siemens Group a complete package of service, support, training and consulting,” comments Helmut Goetz, who is responsible for M²BT at Siemens Corporate Technologies.
The implementation of the solution is uncomplicated and can be carried out in a few weeks in three steps (proof of concept, piloting, rollout).
